  1. Gitte, that is so weird about Al. Some time in June/July, I went on a back pack trip out of Horseshoe Meadows and crossed PCT on Cottonwood Pass. There I ran into an elderly man and we chatted for a few minutes. He too was 80 years old and it was his second time hiking PCT and he too had started out with this son but he was now alone and he said he didn’t have it in him to continue and planned to go home. Now I wonder if that is the same man and maybe he changed his mind and perhaps his son joined him again. I wished I had taken a picture of him so I could compare. That would be so crazy if we had run into the same guy…even crazy if it was two different guy with such similar stories.

    1. I only heard of one other hiker around that age, and he didnt hike with his son. So it might very well have been him. Who then yes, changed his mind.
      I am in such awe of him!

  2. Stadig glad for dine indlæg her! 🙂 Jeg kommer til at gå PCT en eller anden dag…ved ikke helt hvornår, men det sker på et tidspunkt…om et par år tror jeg. Jeg er 53 nu, så der skal ikke gå 10 år ;). Men godt at vide, at man skal søge om tilladelse på et bestemt tidspunkt! Kan du give et hint om, hvor meget turen har kostet dig cirka? Indregnet et hotel her og dér, ligesom du har gjort det?

    1. JA. Det skal du gøre, Rose. Og alder er ligegyldigt!
      Jeg brugte cirka 80.000 alt inklusive, men laver et indlæg om det en af dagene, for flere har spurgt 🙂
